CNS is recruiting! [for position of Communication Assistant]

Citizen News Service (CNS) specializes in rights-based and in-depth, health and science writing and syndication to print and online media. CNS also manages a dedicated division, Solutions, that provides media and communication services to health and development agencies globally.

We are looking for freshers as well as experienced people with absolute professional integrity, for the position of Communication Assistant for Solutions division of CNS. Age and gender is no bar. CNS is committed to gender justice and encourages people of all genders to apply.

The role of Communication Assistant is full-time (9am to 6pm, Mondays to Saturdays) and mostly desk-work around supporting communication projects CNS is involved with.

- Reasonable familiarity with computer and internet usage
- Proficiency in Hindi and English language
- Good English typing speed and quality (knowing Hindi typing is added benefit)
- Understanding of health and development issues
- Comfortable in working with flexibility and within tight deadlines
- Should be methodical and detail-oriented

- Perform online (and hardcopy) issue-specific news monitoring, aggregation and analysis
- Translate Hindi to English and English to Hindi content- Transcribe audio or video files (in Hindi and/or English)
- Support all communication-related projects CNS is involved with
- Support Citizen News Service (CNS), its campaigns and other work CNS is engaged with
- Maintain consistently high standard of work, punctuality and professional ethics

Location:  Lucknow, India
Time commitment: The applicant needs to be in CNS office from 9am to 6pm, Mondays to Saturdays. Sunday is the weekly off.

Duration: 1st May 2015 (or earlier) to 31st December 2015 (with one month probation, and possibility of contract being renewed)
